VW Caddy 2 (9KV Kastenwagen / 9U Pickup) - Baujahr 1995 bis 2003 / 1996 bis Ende 2000

Welcome to the forum for the VW Caddy 2 (9KV panel van / 9U pickup) - year of manufacture 1995 to 2003 / 1996 to the end of 2000.

The second VW Caddy generation came in two variants. The VW Candy 9KV was designed by Volkswagen as a panel van and high roof station wagon and was produced from 1995 to 2003. In contrast, the VW Candy 9U was a pickup truck and was produced from 1996 to 2000.

The VW Candy 9U also carried the name VW Caddy II pickup. As such, it was aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. It was the badge-engineered version of the Škoda Felicia pickup and was manufactured at Škoda Auto in Kvasiny (Czech Republic). Compared to its Škoda sister model, the VW Candy 9U differed only in the VW logo on the grille, tailgate and on the steering wheel. The Candy 9U was available open, with a tarpaulin body or with a removable plastic hardtop. Its self-supporting body could be loaded with 500 kg. The engine was taken from the Škoda Felicia and ran either with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine with 55 kW (75 hp) or a 1.9 liter diesel engine with 47 kW (64 hp).

As a panel van and high roof station wagon, the VW Caddy 2 9KV was built and shared the platform PQ23/A03 with models such as the VW Polo 3 (Type 6N) and the Seat Ibiza (Type 6K)/Cordoba (6K/6C). Even the VW Caddy 2 9KV was produced by Seat in Martorell (Spain). The sister model was the Seat Inca. Unlike the latter, the VW Caddy 2 9KV knows changes in the design of the front, roof antenna, instrument panel and seat covers. It was delivered with 1.4 and 1.6 liter engines with power from 44 kW (60 hp) to 55 kW (75 hp). The diesel engines were available with 1.7 and 1.9 liters. The 1.7 SDI was a naturally aspirated diesel with direct injection and the top diesel was the 1.9 TDI, a turbodiesel with direct injection. The engine for both the VW Caddy 2 9KV and the Seat Inca came from Volkswagen, while the floor assembly and other technology came from the Seat Inca. The floor assembly and technology came from the Seat Inca, while the engines for both models were taken from the Volkswagen shelf.
